Terms of Service
These terms cover your use of the K5 Homework Aid For Parents app and this website. By downloading or using the app, you agree to them. We've tried to keep them short and readable.
1. Who we are
K5 Homework Aid For Parents ("the app," "we," "us") is developed by M. Mohd in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. You can reach us at k5homeworkaidforparents@gmail.com.
2. What the app does, and what it isn't
The app uses artificial intelligence to read photos of kindergarten through 5th-grade homework, check the answers, and offer explanations, hints, and tips for parents.
AI can make mistakes. It can misread handwriting or a blurry photo, mark a correct answer as wrong, or miss an error. Results are a helpful second look, not a final judgment. Your child's teacher always has the final word, and the app isn't a substitute for teachers, tutors, or professional educational or learning evaluations.
3. Who can use the app
The app is intended for parents and guardians. You must be at least 18, or the age of majority where you live, to buy a subscription. Children may use features like Kid Mode with a parent's supervision, on a parent's device.
4. Free scans and subscriptions
- Free start. New downloads include 3 free scans with every feature included.
- Plans. Basic includes 50 scans per month, and Family includes 150 scans per month. Each is available monthly or yearly. Current prices are shown in the App Store or Google Play before you buy.
- Billing and renewal. Subscriptions are sold and billed by Apple or Google. They renew automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends.
- Cancelling. Cancel anytime in your App Store or Google Play account settings. You keep access until the end of the period you've already paid for.
- Refunds. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their refund policies. We can't issue refunds directly.
- Unused scans. Monthly scan allowances don't roll over to the next period.
- Price changes. If prices change, Apple or Google will notify you as their rules require, and you can cancel before the new price applies.
5. Using the app fairly
Please use the app only to check homework for your own family. Don't:
- upload anything other than homework or schoolwork, or anything you don't have the right to use;
- try to copy, reverse-engineer, or resell the app or its results as a service;
- use bots or scripts, or try to get around scan limits, security checks, or payments; or
- use the app in a way that breaks the law or harms others.
We may suspend access for anyone who misuses the app.
6. Your photos
Your homework photos remain yours. By scanning one, you give us permission to send it to our service providers, including Google's Gemini AI, to process it and return results to you, as described in our Privacy Policy.
7. Our app
The app, its design, text, and explanations belong to K5 Homework Aid For Parents. We give you a personal, non-transferable, non-commercial license to use the app on devices you own or control, under these terms and the store's rules.
8. App Store and Google Play
If you downloaded the app from the Apple App Store, Apple's Standard End User License Agreement also applies. Apple isn't responsible for the app or its support. If you downloaded it from Google Play, Google Play's terms also apply. If these terms conflict with a store's mandatory rules, the store's rules win.
9. Disclaimer
The app is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties, express or implied, including that the app will be error-free, always available, or that its results will be accurate or fit a particular purpose.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren't liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including grades or school outcomes, arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the 12 months before the claim. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
11. Changes
We may update the app or these terms from time to time. When we change these terms, we'll post the new version on this page and update the effective date. If you keep using the app after a change, the updated terms apply.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, except where the law where you live requires otherwise.
